Joe Wilson is the proud owner of the Outdoor Ball Hockey League (OBHL), a vibrant community dedicated to hockey enthusiasts in Ontario. Founded in 2009 by Ryan Anderson, OBHL began its journey in the picturesque Fifty Point Conservation Area in Grimsby, fueled by a passion for sport and community. In 2016, the league expanded to Confederation Beach Park in Hamilton, reaching an even broader audience of ball hockey players.

In 2017, Joe took the reins of the league, bringing his extensive experience as a referee, administrator, and player to the forefront. His deep connection to the game drives OBHL's mission to create a welcoming environment for players of all ages and backgrounds.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented challenges that prompted innovation, leading to the relocation of the rink to Confederation, where OBHL now operates two rinks at a single location. This strategic decision has enhanced the league’s offerings and better served its growing community.

In 2021, OBHL launched the Hammer Sports Camp, quickly becoming recognized as the premier sports camp in the region. Each summer, the camp inspires young athletes, nurturing their skills and instilling values that extend beyond the rink.

With over 7,000 members and 80 adult teams—including men's, women's, and coed divisions—as well as 20 youth teams, OBHL stands as a cornerstone of a community that prioritizes youth sports. Generous sponsors play a vital role in this mission, providing team jerseys and scholarships for underprivileged youth to ensure that every child has the chance to play and grow.

Under Joe's leadership, OBHL is more than just a league; it is a community committed to shaping outstanding young adults through the power of sport. Join us as we continue to inspire, connect, and elevate the game we love!
